Yes, you are correct, David. That heat
sink is so massive, that for SSB, it is probably a little overkill. I
do hope it is pulling air out, not blowing it back in though. If
someone has reversed it, thinking it would be better, you might turn it
around so it pulls air out of the cabinet before you start transmitting with
it again.

I use my TR7-A mostly for short-wave
listening, so I've unplugged the cooling fan to cut down on the dirt that
might be drawn into the radio. Am I correct in assuming that this fan is
only required if I'm transmitting? Any advice would be
