One more thing: the switch on top of the microphone controls PTT & audio just like the switch bar on the base. Use either one, but not both.

"Al Parker" made an utterence to the drakelist gang ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Bill, The plug is OK, same as the switchcraft as far as dimensions, etc. are concerned. The problem is the mic. If I'm correct, the KW MC50 is a low impedance mic, and you need a high impedance mic., or I guess you could use a small mic transformer to transform the impedance. The MC50 can show output on the scope, and be working properly, but not into a ckt that requires a high impedance input. You need an older type dynamic or xtal mic, like an Astatic D-104, or Shure 544 (think that's the shure nr), or others. -or find the one that came with the rig ;-) 73, Al, W8UT New Bern, NC BoatAnchors appreciated here http://www.thecompendium.net/radio/ http://www.hammarlund.info
