Good morning,
compared to many new transceivers, the TR-7 is still an excellent performer. Nevertheless some drawbacks made me think about an overall improvement. Therefor I decided to revitalize my rig. I disassembled it completely and, while reusing the "good" parts and disposing the others, I constructed a completely new hardware and added the following features: complete processor control with keyboard entry, integrated power supply, DDS-Vfo with RIT and XIT, low nois preamp, speech processor, 3rd if with notch filter and more.
The whole project realization lasted almost 3 years but has been completed last week. Unfortunately the project is rather in depth going and complicated so I will not be able to distribute a kit-like modification list with schematics. Nevertheless will I be happy to answer all questions. Pictures are available on the German radio site:

With this project I wanted to prove that senseful modifications will give great home construction satisfaction, produce modern concepts from our beloved old gear and make new aquirements unnecessary.
