After several years
of sitting on the shelf being admired, I fired up the old B-line and the
only problem I'm having is that the CW output is very low on 40 meters only. In
the TUNE position the plate current is running around 120 ma with the gain
control wide open. About the same in the CW position. The SPOT signal is healthy
and can be "tuned" by the RF Tune, PLATE and LOAD controls. The sidetone
is OK but it is not present in the TUNE position, but I honestly don't
remember if it's supposed to be or not.
I've cleaned the
switch contacts but the function switch is still a bit raspy and questionable
but I can't tell that it has any effect on this problem. On LSB I can talk the
plate current up to about 250 ma, which is low but useable.
Any
suggestions?
