I feel a bit like I did back in 1979 when I first got on the air. With the kind and knowledgeable assistance of many of you guys, I have restored my T-4XC.
In this project, I cleaned up the chassis, rebuilt a can capacitor, verified the power supply, cleaned all the wafer switches, replaced a couple components and tubes, and aligned and adjusted everything.
This evening I got it on the air, and had a blast making a few contacts, though I did not hear anybody working the Classic Exchange contest. One gentleman heard me discussing my need for a replacement meter shunt resistor and said he would send me one in tomorrow's mail. Another gentleman from our Drakelist is sending me a knob to replace the one that snapped in half.
My thanks to all of you, and if I can't buy you a cup of coffee or a beer in the future, that I will "pay it forward" to another ham.
