Hi, Just a short example to let you why I appreciate the group so much The other night my TR4 lost almost all ability to receive. Transmit was fine, but receive was almost nil. I tested all of the tubes and did a few of the other elementary things that you do when confronted with a problem. All to no avail. Then I remembered a thread that the list had with Matthew ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) last fall about the receive on his TR4. I looked back through the messages that had been sent concerning his problem, and bingo, saw one from Don Cunningham that hit the nail on the head. Don told Matthew about the #12 lamp used as a fuse in the TR4. After learning of this fuse, I found one very small reference to it in the manual (which I had read without it registering 100 times or more.) I replaced the lamp and the rig now works fine. Without the messages in the group, I would still be "investigating" my problem instead of using my TR4. Thanks again, especially to Don.
