Ron Wagner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterence to the drakelist gang

There is also an overlay in an old HR magazine. That article had a FS4 clone designed and build using PLL technology of the time. That overlay will work well and if anyone really needs it I can get a scan (I think). I spoke with the author of this device some years ago, but the varac-diode is no longer made. That and the new DDS technology produces some really good RF output. I have had a DDS FS4 clone on my bench for some time, just never got around to finishing it (minor intermittent problem with noise on the PIC to DDS interface). My TR7 has turned into my main rig, and the twins have been somewhat "on the bench". Some day I will get the urge again. BTW I had no intentions of ever marketing it, but figured my cost for my personal project would have been about $100, complete.

There is a chart within the T-4X manual showing the range covered by each bandswitch position. They cover from 1.8 through 30 MHz with considerable overlap.
There is a set of "overlay" stickers for the preselectors on my C-line, that I was told came with an FS4. They graphically show the complete HF tuning range and overlap between the bands. I have never seen anyone reproducing these, and they seem to be rarely talked about. I've got a mediocre digital pic of the one on the T4XC, but it looks like I never got around to taking a pic of the one on the R4C. They are slightly different.
