"Greg" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterence to the drakelist gang
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've just aquired a TR-4 sn 29181 ('68-69), I didn't have any plans on buying it but
when he said I could have the unit for just $135 (T or R-4 units usually go for at least twice that amount here in sweden) I just couldn't pass the opportunity down :-)
The unit was in really good condition, almost no miscoloration of the copper chassis.
As I'm going through the electrical part I find that the disc capacitor between
'Plate' and the finals , C78 - a 2kv 2.7nF capacitor, has cracked all the way around.
I don't have a direct replacement for this one, would 3nF be acceptable as I could
paralell 3 1nF 3kV capacitors I have?

The seller also mentioned in a note that I should remember the unit was set for 120v
since we use 230v here in sweden.
To my knowledge the ac line entering the radio only goes to the on/off switch then
back to the AC-4 unit? The AC-4 is already set for our outlet voltage, so is there anything in the radio itself I need to change aswell?

Also, are there any known equivalents for tubes 6BZ6, 13DE7, 6GX6?
I can't find any in my own lists..
