Jerry Sharp <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang

Jim, I did purchase it from the "E" place, from a guy who lives in Cincinnati, OH. I had no idea of the serial number when I made the purchase, but the price was cheap and it looked like a good restoration project.

It'll never be a museum piece, but the low serial number makes it a collector's item, at least to me. I'm really enjoying watching what was a total mess slowly regain some of it's past glory. And after I complete the restoration, I have no plans on selling it, this one is going to be a keeper (unless some fool offers to trade me a nice R-7A for it) ;)

Regards,

Gerald,
What a great find, R-4 0005! Did you find that
on eBay? How did I miss that, HI. I do not have a R-4
face plate for you, I wish I had one for me. I have
R-4 0010 with T-4X 10014, that is transmitter number 14.
Both in good condition with some age spots on the copper.
The R-4 series is my favorite version of the line. I thought I saw R-4 0005 at a Hamfest once recently, in
the last year, but passed on it do to its rough condition.
My hats off to you for making the effort to put it in good shape.
