In fact, I've build three (3) of the synthesizers... one went into an MS-4
speaker enclosure, and the other two went into Hammond 1598DBK plastic
(ABS) enclosures.
Suggest you visit my web site at www.n0ss.net and download the PDF I've
created which includes a number of comments for builders of this project.
If you missed it, Jim Pruitt, WA7DUY <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, has found that
the PLL IC used in this project will be discontinued and that several
vendors (including DigiKey and Newark) will not be stocking them once their
current supply runs out. You CAN still order this IC in single lots from
Newark, BUT you CANNOT order it in single lots on-line... you must call
them and order it directly via phone. You might want to drop Jim a note to
get more info from him.
Additionally, I understand that FAR circuits (the vendor of the PC boards)
HAS purchased a small quantity (40 or so, I think) of the PLL ICs, to go
with his PC board 'kits', so this may be a good way to ensure that you have
the right IC when time comes to build the project.
The project is NOT DIFFICULT to build!!! Just takes some time and patience.
And it works GREAT!
I can supply decals which will fit the MS-4 and the Hammond 1598D
enclosures if you find you need them... pix and prices upon request.
I can also provide a fairly complete Excel spreadsheet of all the
components required, part numbers from the vendor and pricing. Just ask.
