You can switch the CF/600 in and out using the spare contacts on the second wafer from the front on the mode switch. As you look from the front, with the mode switch cover removed, you should see three unused contacts to the right of centre on that second wafer. I conected the two outer tags together and to +12V and attached the CF/600 switching relay control wire to the centre one. This has the effect of switching in the CF/600 when CW .5 or CW .25 positions are selected. The only disadvantage I found with this arrangement is that the CF/600 is always chosen in these positions, so A/B tests are out. Twenty five or so years ago when I first had a CF/600, I installed a minature toggle switch in one of the available holes on the R4C rear skirt. That allowed me to do all the A/B testing I wanted and is another option for you. Rob Sherwood does offer a very nice switch but personally I think it overkill unless you want to add switchable roofers for USB and LSB too. You asked me how I got on with my image problem on the R-4C here. Well, I did have an image problem which was caused by leakage across a Sherwood roofing filter switching pcb. There's not much to that pcb and I never did quite get to the bottom of how it caused that problem but it was fixed when I removed the board and directly wired the relays. You shouldn't worry about using one of those boards because Sherwood have hundreds installed and working fine, so it's not caused by a design problem, just some fault on mine. I still do have a problem on the R4C here but it's a third order intermod problem which is proving rather stubborn to resolve. I had to put it to one side while I have been dealing with some other stuff but I hope to get back to it later this week. The difficulty I was having before I broke off was that my test results were inconsistent. I put that down to my test setup being unstable. I have ideas on how to get over that particular problem which I will try when I get back into the workshop.
