I signed up in July, but forget the password info. Anyhow, I have a TR-4 that receives pretty well, but I cannot get any drive to the 12BY7A grid. Checked the tubes, replaced R-81, R83 (470) at the BM; they were both burned and were measuring about 800 ohms; checked the diodes in the BM, measure OK with VOM. No idea what may have overloaded the resistors, but they read by eye as 47 ohms because the "brown" band had turned "black". Looks like the XMIT GAIN control is not "unbalancing the BM" so the rig can be tuned. I have had Drake for years and done some alignments, so am familiar with them. Been testing this one on 20 so I eliminate any crystal problems, but cannot get drive on any band.
