If the short was inside the TR-4, it wouldn't matter whether the coax
connector was grounded or not.?
Sounds more like the _external_ connector/coax is shorted.

Hi,
If it were me, I would check to see if there was a short between the inner and outer sheild on the connector inside the radio.

Hello list again ,
I'll grateful if somebody can help me.
The transceiver receives properly when I connect only the center pin
of the PL, afterwards when the outer sleeve touch the rest of the
female connector then the reception drops to 0. The coax and the
antenna works properly. It's seems as the antenna was to ground or the
antenna was shortened.
Any idea?.
Regards
Eugeni - EA3QP
