Hi Floyd,

This is perfectly normal. I have understood that it was a
"safety-requirement" in case the TR7 was used professionally, that then RX
could not be adjusted to zero volume. 
I guess it means that a fixed resistor is added to the ground wire of the
volume potentiometer, but I have never checked that. If you dislike this
behaviour, I guess you could remove the resistor....

Finally got around to listening to my newly acquired TR7, and notice that 
setting the AF gain control to minimum does not reduce the AF output to 
zero.  Haven't dug into it yet, but wonder if this is a common problem in 
the TR7?  Not likely a pot problem since it adjusts very smoothly down to 
the minimum, but just doesn't reduce the output to zero.
