I may be a minority of one but I think the information provided in the 2-B manual is sufficient for servicing. I just restored one. The hardest part was dial stringing. In the 2-B there are two strings. And no, it doesn’t double the pleasure and fun. Dial stringing is a pain. It took me a while but I was able to do the job allright. Nice receiver by the way. In this day and age of service manuals in addition to operator manuals, we have forgotten that in the old days we used to get all the necessary information in one manual so there was no service manual required. Today it would be hard to imagine having it all in one book because today’s rigs are so much more complicated.

There were several listers looking for information on servicing the 2B and if there was a 2B Service Manual available. No manual was mentioned so I guess none was published? Anyway I was wondering if there are any old Drake employees or long time Drake 2B owners out there that may have production, parts lists or engineering information that could be used to develop a service manual or bulletin? I would hope there are a few old experts out there that may have some information that maybe they think is not important, but that would be very valuable to maintaining and preserving these vintage receivers.
