I've got a Dayton 4C765, same form factor as the FA7, 24v 130 mA, ball
bearing, brushless, 35CFM. It still moves a fair amount of air at 12v.
Too bad mine has noisy bearings, it's a nice little fan. I figured out
how to take it apart, a little Mobil 1 in the bearings helped a bit. If
I could find some replacement bearings that are the right size, I'd use
it.

I never understood the AC fan bit. A DC fan can easily be powered from
the radio, base or mobile. An AC fan is a doorknob if running mobile.
Maybe they were just a lot cheaper at the time.
