I don't know if it will work for you, but I built a PTT cable (less than 6"
long) coming out of the Heil Vintage plug with a female "jack" on the end of
the wire like the other Heil mics have, then made a cheap PTT rig like Heils
with a mono male plug and a Radio Shack momentary contact switch. If you
ream the plastic on the make plug, the Radio Shack switch will press fit in
there and makes a short, easily manageable PTT rigging plugged into the
jack. Just took a few minutes, and not much cash, hi.
I don't like to use VOX on a rig, so had to figure out something. I agree
the PTT on the vintage mic is awkward!!
