"Gerry" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ran out of projects, and found nothing on ebay I couldn't live without. So I upgraded one of my AC-4 power supplies to the AC-4R pc board version. I'm glad I did. Assembly was straightforward, instructions clear and detailed, and the finished product looked great and met all expectations. The pc board is of excellent quality as are the components. As part of my job, I also design pc boards for switching power supplies so I tend to look at everyone else's work with a critical eye. The board looks the way I want my boards to look and work. There is even silk screening on the reverse side which is great for troubleshooting, if you ever needed to. But I don't think this will be necessary if you follow the assembly sheets. I spent a pleasant Saturday morning and enjoyed the fruits of my labor by early afternoon. If you can follow instructions and know which end of a soldering iron to hold, then this upgrade is for you. Of course now I realize my AC-4 is no longer "museum" or "mint" quality, but that's OK. The AC-4 is a means to an end, not some pretty object to put on a shelf and brag to my friends about. Therefore I have no plans to sell it.
