Most likely, it was clear when applied new by Drake, but has yellowed
with age.

"TESTORS" paint company sells small spray cans of translucent / semi-clear
paint, too...I bought two for a different project here years ago (mine are
red)...
I imagine they'd have something in yellow, like what you're looking for.
