First, the "S9 +30 signal" should be at zero beat for the null to be at 12 o'clock. Generally not worth fighting, as not only is the adjustment difficult to access, it's also glued down. Unless that glue blob is broken, indicating someone has been "fixing" it, it will be close enough. The actual null is an iteration of the knob and the RED pot on the long board with three pots under the chassis.

Any help appreciated: The manual says that after aligning the ‘span’ of the Notch control, tune in a S9+30 signal and adjust to absolute null. The knob should be at the 12:00 position, and if not, adjust the “notch coil” so the null occurs at 12:00. Well, mine nulls at 11:00, but I’m having a heck of a time understanding/finding where to adjust that coil. There does not seem to be an easy way to get an alignment tool in the top because it’s 90 degrees from the chassis top. I can’t even see what type of adjustment tool to use: screwdriver? Hex tool? Can anyone shed some light on how to do it? Many thanks in advance de Darrell W4CX
