The "Brown" (WHT/BRN) wire IS the RIT lead, but it comes out of the SIDE
of the PTO housing, where the RTTY shift terminal is on the earlier PTOs.
There is ALSO a GROUND wire for the PC board from inside the PTO to a
ground lug OUTSIDE the 'can'. This lead comes out of the bottom with
the Red and Green lead, and is not a consistent color.

The Brown wire on TR7 PTO is the RIT. There is no ground wire, in the
TR7 the PTO is grounded through the mounting screws and on later units
a copper
grounding finger on the bottom of the PTO.
