Good morning All:

I have a TR3 that I am getting back to operation. The PTO appears to have been changed at some point so may not be original. Anyway, the span and center frequency is not proper. It wont quite go to 5.5MHz all the way to the end of screw and at the other end, it is at 44.9 about 1/3 rd of the way out. (approx 2 of the ferrite rings exposed..

I have removed it and opened it up and all seems intact. There is an adjustment on this one I have not seen on others tho.

At the base of the coil, on the phenolic base, there is a adjusting screw that is a trimmer cap. it goes thru the phenolic base and presses against an insulating shim between the body and the metal screw frame.

I havent messed with this yet.

I havent been able to find anything on adjustment of the span and tracking of a PTO..is there anything?

Is this trimmer the adjustment I need to make?

It all works fine..just not on frequency.. tube swap yields same result. Voltages are correct.

Thanks

Curt
