Probably not. The Carrier Oscillator is shifted by about 850 Hz to
place it within the passband of the LSB filter, and the Balanced
Modulator is unbalanced to generate a true CW signal. It may be
possible to shift it slightly, but if you go very far it will run into
the skirt of the filter and there won't be anything getting through the
filter.
Transceive on CW is problematic at best. When the Drake transmitters
were designed, most transmitters worked in a similar fashion, and all
that I'm familiar with used the LSB filter. So if both stations were
using transceive, they'd be on similar frequencies and wouldn't be
chasing each other up and down the band. However, with the advent of
solid state transceivers, some used LSB and some used USB, sometimes
resulting in double the frequency difference, in the opposite
direction. Which resulted in RIT, XIT, etc. to compensate.
Far better to stay "SEPARATE" and simply match tones in SPOT. I leave
the receiver in the ON position, and listen to my own signal in the
receiver. It can be a little loud, but the AVC does a pretty good job
of keeping it within reason.
