Even worse circuits than AT&T, local radio node has "clipper chip" installed to
reduce through put to 3.1 kbs. Newer software now lets one watch the
process"starts at 49-75 kbs couple seconds drops below 40, then slowly declines
next minute to 3.1 on day lines aren't too busy, which is why late night, great
reduction in dropping connections,

Kano Labs, Tennessee, manufacturer. Kroil is mechanic/millwright friend. As
millwright, steam turbines used to get 2 12 hr shifts before attack with heavy
knock wrenches, and oxy acethelene bolt heaters (bolts are hollow) to stretch
the bolt. 10 years ago, the bolt/nut combo was a few hundred dollars each, and
that was the small ones,, newer processes involve high frequency heaters and
hydraulic wrenches, much faster and far less dangerous I digress. Kroil has an
amazing penetrating and wicking action. one drop on a small scredrive tip will
loosen most small bolts/screws faster than anything, even exhaust manifold 20
year bolts a couple applications a few hours apart will do most, saving broken
parts removal. Also loosens old oil/grease. Have not sufficient experience to
confidently assure on some plastics, but have not seen any problems there. hand
friendly, doesn't inflame cuts/scratches either.

Kroil will disolve rust, slowly. I suggest locating the radio next to the
coffee pot, cover with towel, and while coffee is perking, gentle swab with q
tips, long ones for the harder spots, and give a couple of days. when the rust
starts disolving, gentle rubbing with q-tip will remove the fine sludge
(browninsh color). Heavy rubbing will scratch the surface with rust specs. 2x
a day likely optimal.
Take a before and after picture, (wish I had) kroil also formulates the
product with silicone mis, great for concrete uuse shovels, have found better
for firearm coating. 8ox small cans, but if you do much mechanic work on old
stuff, you'll want a gallon. I go through @ one a year. 1977 F250 4wd nearly
all rebuilt. Firearms community has taken a liking to it, cleaner barrels, and
small rust beginnings can disappear without damage to remaining finish. Color
is purple hue. Be patient.

Kano also makes microil, a very high quality VERY slow evaporation(closest to
sperm whale oil) fine machine oil, excellent for fishing reels, watches, clocks,
sewing machines (VFO shafts? new at this, my first drake project, yet to do)
Once you're satisfied no more brown slime is coming off, you can simply give a
very light coat of microil. This will protect the clean surface, though will
also serve as dust magnet.Am sure there are better light protective coatings
maybe silicone based? Deoxit has one?

Very minimum electronics experience, though once held a coast guard unlicensed
electician rating, so qualified to change light bulbs.

I am pleased with the results, even though a couple of light scratched spots
from rubbing too hard too early. You may be surprised how small the pit is
below the circular rust spot.

you must be on an AT&T circuit LOL .
KROIL is a penetrating oil? What do you find when the rust is
removed... bare steel... and what color is it? Where do you buy KROIL?
have a lot of Drake gear with rust spots
