Woody, http://www.hamanuals.com/manuals/Fr4tr.pdf another copy in pdf format. Based on looking at the manual, it would appear that it will work fine with the TRany. I am not sure about using the RVx connector though. Likely the PTO signal is on that jack. Not sure that the xtal signal is at that jack. The schematic and theory of ops say you need both signals. Installation step 6 and 7 is picking up both signals as best I can tell.
OTOH the manual gives very good details on how to wire it into the rig, with what looks like a minimal invasion to the rig.. I would just follow the instructions. Use two small rg175 coaxes if you don't have the original cable, and see what happens.
