This is a simple update that was posted by Tom Laird WC9M on 23 Jan 1998 on Zerobeat.net/Drakelist. The mod was originally by L. J. Hemmis K3VLQ. It requires just two U-310 transistors that are easy to get to under the chassis. I have been looking for these transistors for a couple of years off and on and finally found a source for them that is reasonably priced. These transistors I believe were discontinued and were bought up by some big companies and were only being sold in large quantities. I just found a source for them last week for $9.99 each with free shipping on Ebay, link below. I just ordered two for my rig.
