Just an update on my T4XC freq tuning problem, I got to the bottom of it when
I opened up the covers. The nylon gears were not aligned properly and were
sometimes missing being meshed. I slid the tuning shaft inward and set up the
alignment for the gears to be meshed as they should and now they have a very
nice feel when tuning. I did have to also adjust the two frequency disks so
that there is enough play when adjusting for freq calibration as there is
apparently a stop on the disks because I couldn't go past a certain point if my
freq was off too far. I moved the 'ones' disk and rechecked several times
until I got it on OK. It now has a nice smooth feel and can adjust the cal to
be right on. Kind of like it was when it was new!
