Hi, Curt.

You could very well be right. I was also very new to HF operation and might have been overly sensitive to a comment during a QSO about drift. It could have been only a couple of Hz but I probably wouldn't have known any better. Hi

I suspect your drift experience may be a-typical Jim. One thing that is
a bit annoying is the transceive zero vs different crystal
characteristics in Rx and Tx. They are much better when they are the
matched pair (Drake Color on crystal) blue, yellow, etc. On my A
twins, I had different colors and until I added fans to both units,
transceive was a small issue but I never found it to be a problem--even
with PSK.

Hi, Bill.

I used my 4B twins for PSK31 about 10 years or so ago when they were
my only HF rig. They worked, but were not really frequency stable
enough for best operation on digital modes. Even after letting them
warm up for 30 minutes or so, the T-4XB would drift a bit - not a good
thing with digital modes.

I can provide additional detail if you'd like, but I'm not sure what
questions you might have.

Does have any info on working PSK 31 and the B-line twins?
