Yes, you should not mount the lower block devices, only the /dev/drbd1
device. Take any lower devices out of /etc/fstab.

I am experiencing the error:

usually means it is mounted.
Command 'drbdsetup /dev/drbd1 disk /dev/sda2 /dev/sda6 0
--set-defaults --create-device' terminated with exit code 10"
DRBD was syncing between node1 and node2 and when I rebooted node1 I
got this from cat/proc/drbd:
1:r0 Connected Secondary/Secondary Diskless/UpToDate
So I ran:
drbdadm up r0
and got the above error.
Is the lower device the actual partition the drbd device is on which
is my case is /dev/sda2?
Should that /dev/sda2 not be mounted at boot?
What do I do to make DRBD happy on reboot?
Thanks!
