Maybe the secondary node is the one that wants read-only access.
Reading from the primary which in turn reads from the secondary when its drives 
are gone is just network overhead.

Here is a reason why Andreas needs a cluster FS: E.g. ext3 will only by 
accident get to know about a change in fs.
