Mmm, amazing numbers.
Two things though:
- buying second hand gear is a valid option for own networks, but harder to
offer to clients. They expect stuff with warranty obviously
- disks are still going to present bottlenecks; It seems to me you would be
using like a small percentage of infinibands potential

Actually depends, many are happy to accept some risks when they see the
savings. As far as bottlenecks, even with two systems Infiniband is faster
because of the latency, however once you start connecting several servers
together with say something like Gluster then you really start to see it
shine.
