It is very easy to build the required rpm packages from the source, at least. I have not tried deb, etc.

Not only that, but Ubuntu quit upgrading the module along with the userspace tools. As far as I know they stick to what's in the mainline kernel, package the latest 8.3.x tools and disable the mismatch warnings.
