INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIFE

1) Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

2) When you lose, don't lose the lesson.

3) Follow the three R's:
    1. Respect for self
    2. Respect for others and
    3. Responsibility for all your actions.

4) Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of
luck.

5) Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.

6) Don't let a little dispute injure a great relationship.

7) When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

8) Spend some time alone every day.

9) Open arms to change, but don't let go of your values.

10) Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

11) Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back,
you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.

12) A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.

13) In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation.
Don't bring up the past.

14) Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality.

15) Be gentle with the earth.

16) Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.

17) Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each
other exceeds your need for each other.

18) Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

19) Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.

Everything Happens for a Reason

Sometimes people come into your life and you know
right away that they were meant to be there... to
serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or
help figure out who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be but when you
lock eyes with them, you know that every moment that
you are with them, they will affect your life in some
profound way. And sometimes things happen to you
at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair,
but in reflection you realize that without overcoming
those obstacles you would have never realized your
potential, strength, willpower or heart.

Everything happens for a reason!
Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck.
Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness
and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of
your soul. Without these small tests, life would be
like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere,
safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet affect your life.
The successes and downfalls that you experience can
create who you are, and the bad experiences can be
learned from... In fact, they are probably the most
poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart,
forgive them because they have helped you learn about
trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you
open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back
unconditionally, not only because they love you, but
also because they are teaching you to love and open
your heart and eyes to little things. Make everyday
count!

Appreciate every moment and take from it everything
that you possibly can, for you may never be able to
experience it again. Talk to people who you have
never talked to before, and actually listen. Let
yourself fall in love, even if it doesn't seem
right because you are too young or too far, just
follow your heart. Surround yourself with those
who make you smile, laugh, and make you happy.

Break free and set your sights high. Hold your head
up because you have every right to. Create your own
life then let go and live it!

hi i just wanted to say thanks. For what you might ask, well because of your
e-mail. I'm really wasn't sure if you were serious or not because of my weird
and crazy mind, but i'm really glad that you wrote that. It's something i
really need right about this moment in time. So... Thanks and keep that great
mind of yours working.

Dear Kelly,

May the warmth of the sun envelope you as you rise to bed each day! I thank you
for the insights you shared that are truly essential in life. I greatly
appreciate what you've said in your emails. I am happy to know that there are
still people like you who can see beyond things. By the way I am Athena, a 30
years old female from the Philippines. I am a nurse and a special educator. I
teach the deaf and blind people here in Cebu City, Philippines. Like you, I
seek to find the things that truly enrich my life. Until here, may the good
Lord bless you and keep you.
