The Mustard Seed
There is an old Chinese tale about a woman whose only son died. In her
grief, she went to the holy man and said, "What prayers, what magical
incantations do you have to bring my son back to life?"
Instead of sending her away or reasoning with her, he said to her, "Fetch
me a mustard seed from a home that has never known sorrow. We will use it to
drive the sorrow out of your life." The woman went off at once in search of
that magical mustard seed.
She came first to a splendid mansion, knocked at the door, and said, "I
am looking for a home that has never known sorrow. Is this such a place? It is
very important to me."
They told her, "You've certainly come to the wrong place," and began to
describe all the tragic things that recently had befallen them.
The woman said to herself, "Who is better able to help these poor,
unfortunate people that I, who have had misfortune of my own?"
She stayed to comfort them, then went on in search of a home that had
never known sorrow. But wherever she turned, in hovels and in other places, she
found one tale after another of sadness and misfortune. She became so involved
in ministering to other people's grief that ultimately she forgot about her

Subject: I Was A Busy Lil Dreamer Last Night ... Multiple Dreams ...
First Dream -
I dreamt I was on a trip with two older women. We were
going to a concert or something, somewhere along the
line I got concert tickets. We stopped at a restaurant
to eat and as it was also a motel we stayed the night
When I awoke the next morning I opened the door and my
friend Jim was standing there and he was angry. It was
my birthday and he'd come from Vermont to visit me and
I wasn't home so he'd searched for me and found me. He
told me "I'm only going to date you once!" meaning we
were now dating and if I messed up that's all there
would be. I don't know what happened to the two women
but I left with Jim. We drove over a series of
intricate freeways in a large city. We ended up in a
sort of a theatre and we had papers to fill out I had
them I was going to fill them out for the two of us.
As we walked down an aisle to find a seat, Jim grabbed
a pack of cigarettes from a man in a group of people
sitting there. We went on and found seats near the
front of a large screen and stage then I woke up.
Second Dream -
I dreamt about Laura again. I dreamt I was looking for
her and was finding clues then knew where she was and
was going to get her. I woke again.
Third Dream -
I dreamed I was in a classroom situation and there was
a 'teen witch' in the room trying to get people to go
to her website which she had stolen from me and other
things. I took two pieces of bread, put a stamp on one
and wrote something on the other, I was around the
corner from her in another room and she came into the
room I was in, she was astoundingly tall for a teen,
slim with short black hair wearing the signature teen
goth black dress. I started eating the bread and she
slowly left the room. She continued to taunt me but I
wrote something on a piece of paper and and left it on
her desk and she shut up. There was a folded paper on
her desk I picked it up and it was a Wal*Mart receipt
several feet long consisting of candles, incense and
the like. I threw it back down on her desk and she had
stopped talking. I walked out of the room smugly and
then woke again.
