Subject: really vivid dream inside a dream
So, I had a dream inside of a dream.
In the dream inside the dream, I had to confront each of the
therapists and psychiatrists that I had worked with, sort of like a
DS9 script that I just read the other day in which Jadzia Dax has to
consult all of her past hosts.
The dream involved talking to Doug and Tyler and some other people. A
particular issue was interpersonal dynamics and communication, which
we discussed in person and on AIM. One of them decided to take me out
to eat, and offered to pay when I asked to stop at an ATM. We went and
looked at the menu, but it all looked alcohol, but then mysteriously I
noticed some fruit smoothies at this apparently bar place. But I
didn't get taht, I got something else instead that someone
recommended. And then we met up with a group of people, and they
wanted to go somewhere far away like Watsonville but one of them was a
UCSC Inn RA and he couldn't be more than 15 minutes away from the Inn,
and Watsonvile is a bit more than 15 mins even in the best of conditions.
So then somehow I was in a car, and a girl sitting to my left asked me
why there were so many girls in the car. I pointed out that the girl
in the right hand front seat was really a gender-ambigious person from
one of my classes (A.) and that there was another guy in the front
left driver's seat but he was invisible. She was surprised, but
accepted that explanation.
We pulled off a side road, and all of the sudden ninjas came after us.
I started to talk to one, but it wanted to fight with me. A nasty
alien looking thing popped out of its chest and started to threaten me
and I used some ancient ninja move on it. Later I found out that I was
really some sort of Japanese martial artist but hadn't known it. And
so was someone else, but we were contesting some sort of thing.
Then I woke up from the dream inside the dream, and somehow found out
through some research that my exact dream had been reported by many
many people. (Although with some slight variation of details). I
called a Professor who had written a book on this subject, and got the
title of his book. It turns out,t hough, that I had called his message
number and so he called me back and gave me the correct number. He
called really early, which suprised me. I also had a lot of difficulty
answering the telephone, which was really frusturating.
Then I was in a therapists office, and he wanted me to start taking
some sort of Neuro... pills until I could see Dr. Holland, my
pschiatrist. I told him I wasn't going to do that until I counsulted
either with Dr. Holland or Dr. Hoban, a former psychiatrist that I
saw. He seemed frusturated by this, because he just wanted me to be on
pills until I got some medical care. I thought though that this new
insight into the dream would help to heal the depression.
And then I woke up to the sound of a kitty outside the door meowing
really loud and said, "It must be the kitty wake up alarm." And then I
knew I was really out of the dream for now.
