For some unknown reason, I started to get the "kgd2kfd_probe failed" message
after the update of Fedora-27 (limited to security advisories). Here is dmesg
output:
Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 240x67

radeon 0000:01:05.0: fb0: radeondrmfb frame buffer device
kfd kfd: DID 9710 is missing in supported_devices
  kfd kfd: kgd2kfd_probe failed
[drm] Initialized radeon 2.50.0 20080528 for 0000:01:05.0 on minor 0
kernel version: 4.14.16-300.fc27.x86_64

Compare with the dmesg output:
Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 240x67
radeon 0000:01:05.0: fb0: radeondrmfb frame buffer device
[drm] Initialized radeon 2.50.0 20080528 for 0000:01:05.0 on minor 0
from the kernel version 4.13.9-300.fc27.x86_64

Q1. Is this failure expected? Note that this system doesn't support IOMMU.
Q2. What to do if such failure is not expected?

   Thank you,

  P.S.

This is my first submission to the list. Kindly forgive me if I missed to
