Thanks for checking. The only matches I see are in the MPTF thermal
package, which ships"883ROT13Inch.bin" and "883ROT15Inch.bin". Nothing
else mentions ROT.
I also checked all the ACPI tables but didn't find a codename there.

Agreed, but I’d rather not do it yet. I only have the 13.8-inch unit
right now, so I can’t determine which nodes are truly shared. Once I get
access to the other variant, I’ll verify the hardware and move the
common nodes into mahua-microsoft-surface-laptop-8.dtsi.
