I tried the XFree CVS during the weekend (it's recently been updated
with DRI changes), and I've been able to run it for an hour without
problems.

Quake 3 and assorted screen savers seem to all work just fine, but
there are still some problems with Descent3 (the same problems I've
seen with any drivers, from X CVS and DRI CVS) - after running for
some time in the demo, the driver seems to forget to remove old
objects, and they thus leave trails, making the screen hard to make
sense of rather soon.
