Hello all, I'm new to the list and have couple questions:

First off, I've absorbed all of the documentation I can find from
dri.sourceforge.net
and the web at large related to DRI's current status. Basically I want to
know the
same thing that Nick does regarding status of kernel 2.4.3, XF86 4.0.3, and
DRI
CVS compatibility/concurrency. Which source has the most current support,
and
is there a specific order that these should be patched/installed in?

Specifically, I'm running Debian 2.2r2 (dist-upgraded to Progeny rc2),
kernel 2.4.3,
XF86 4.0.2 patched to 4.0.3, and have just gotten and (unsuccessfully)
compiled the
CVS trunk. I'd like to know if I can use the DRI cvs tree to compile a FULL
XF86
4.0.3 install, including all modules, utilities and servers, and exclusively
use that instead
of my current X server install?

I'd like to start over with a compiled-from-source X installation, optimized
for SSE,
and with the DRI/DRM modules for the video card(s) I'm using. Is it
possible to
rename/remove the /usr/X11R6 directory and build a *full* server
installation from the
DRI sources?

Thanks to all of the hackers working on this project!

/eli
