Most open source projects tend to work better when they have some small
group of active people who "own" it. They keep track of what's being
done, roust developers around release time, etc. Most of the ex-VA guys
are still around, although most of us are taking a bit of a
vacation/break for a while.

Since we're still here handling the management issues shouldn't be a
problem.

I think Mike made some really good points about donations. I don't think
donations for people's time is really going to work. The most effective
use of donations would be to buy hardware. There's a lot of logistics to
handling that effort, so I'd suggest putting that off until you know
exactly how you're going to manage it.

That's probably a reasonable thing to do. As David pointed out I think
most companies have heard the arguments, but having a web page doesn't
hurt and having standardized letters that request docs and point people
to the web page and having centralized contacts would be useful.
