I'd suggest the latest versions get submitted as patches in the patch
database, so that everyone can find them. I know there was a problem
with doing that a while back, but I suspect the sf.net team would have
fixed it by now.

As I've said before, after we get something that sort of works, we can
create a branch and let work move to there. It just doesn't seem worth
doing that quite yet.
