The linked code is the current OS-templated (but probably not working on Linux) code from FreeBSD's CVS. It's at about where the shared code in shared/drm/kernel/ would be once "the bsd branch is brought up to the point of being better than FreeBSD's" By "better" I mean that the style and some ifdeffing at Step 3 would be different in some places from what's in FreeBSD CVS (and it would work on linux for sure).
