About 3 months ago I wrote to the dri-users list after getting DRI 
working with my Mach64 equiped notebook PC. The only reply I received 
was smart#@! remark. Below is the text of the message, now that I know 
where to ask, maybe I can get an answer...

I've just built the DRI-Mach64 driver with XFree86-4.2. 3D rendering 
looks great, 2D is really slow. I'm running KDE-2.2.1 (and XF86-4.2) on 
and HP Notebook with the Rage Mobility P/M chip. Is there a way to have 
good 3D and 2D performance together?
