It is, if you don't rely on a register being set by something for your control of things. You may get peak performance with the design in question, but it's not secure. I'd almost bet we could get as good a performance doing it with what I'd started, if we re-worked the interrupts so that we got double them up using the scanline one in addition to the VBLANK one. > Yep.
