I have noticed the new work going on with T&L Radeon driver, and I am
very excited about it (BTW: I am the one who coded DRI driver for
s3/virge). Now I got a ppc (RS/6000 ppc PCI only) too, and I would like
to do some DRI coding on it, so I ask to you [please tell me if I am
addressing the wrong person]:
- about 2D (plain X): will Radeon PCI (the 2001 T&L model, not the 7xxx)
Xserver run on ppc?
- about 3D: will the current main DRI driver (non T&L) work on this T&L
card? Should it work on ppc? (I saw that SuSE ppc edition got some
radeon binary in modules/dri directory, so I am just wondering).
I am just asking so many questions, since up to know I have still not
bought any card. This machine came with FireGL1 (usable only with
openfirmware fb: biggest pain in the ass of my life - there are ATI
drivers for it but only for x86, what's more ATI is not willing to give
me tech ref for this card. So it is virtually useless).
Before buying a new one (so that I can improve DRI on ppc platform too),
I wanted to know what is best suited for PPC (I mean: has some minimal
support [at least 2D X] so that I won't have to start everything from
the ground up).
