I don't know, but could something else be interferring here? I had
similar Problems - i.e. the frame counter dropped (but not to 0) and
went up again every second or so ... This was due to gkrellm. Shutting
it down before playing q3/q2 helped.
Do you have anything that's polling every second or so?
