I tried to install a Radeon 8500 on a system with an nForce-based
motherboard but I couldn't direct rendering to work because agpgart
failed to load:

Linux agpgart interface v0.99 (c) Jeff Hartmann
agpgart: Maximum main memory to use for agp memory: 816M
agpgart: unsupported bridge
agpgart: no supported devices found.

Is it true that the nForce is unsupported by agpgart or am I doing
something wrong? I looked at the agpgart code in the 2.4.19 gentoo
kernel and sure enough I saw no references to nForce or Nvidia in the
code and in particular no nForce in the agp_bridge_info array.

I tried agp_try_unsupported=1 but that didn't help.

Thanks,

Rene
