If you've ended up using the XFree86 4.2.99.2 Xserver with the mach64 snapshots you've hit a version issue with libpcidata.a. The functions changed between 4.2.0 and 4.2.99.2 and so a 4.2.99.2 Xserver can no longer load a 4.2.0 libpcidata.a module. You need the 4.2.99.2 version as well.
