Keith, your filp-1 patch completely killed the drmCmdBuffer: -22 bug on my box. I have not been able to reproduce it since with VTK or synthetic tests.
Can you summarize the problems that remain? I'm seeing all manner of bad behaviour with glthreads - lots of GL_INVALID_OPERATION errors, lots of 'holds heavyweight lock' errors, the occasional lockup. It's a mess...
