I am getting a weird error when attempting to run "ForcePCIMode" on an opteron with a Radeon 7500 PCI. I have also used a 7000 with the same results.

I am running the stock XFree86 which comes with GinGin.

There are some known potential problems with the Radeon driver on 64-bit. Right now, none of the DRI developers (that I know of) have access to any 64-bit hardware, so you're venturing into uncharted territory. One question, though. Are you running in mixed 32-bit / 64-bit mode, or is everything (i.e., X-server, kernel, applications) built for 64-bit?

(I'm cross-posting this to the DRI list, but it should probably just move there.)
